St. Dominic’s College of Law has been established under the Catholic management of St. Dominic’s College Trust, Kanjirappally, under the St. Dominic's Cathedral Kanjirappally, with an avowed vision to distinctly contribute to the domain of legal education across Kerala and beyond. This center of legal education at Kanjirappally situates in the lap of Kottayam, the highest literate district in Kerala and is poised to address the long felt need of this state to bring into reality an institution with a difference reflecting the changing perceptions of legal education in a post globalized world. Our institution offers opportunities to those aspiring to have quality legal education not only from Central Kerala spanning over Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, and Idukki districts, but is also intended to cater to the aspirations of the Pan-Kerala aspirants. We are wedded to equity, inclusivity and is committed to accomplish our social responsibility towards society by grooming the students to competent legal professionals as well as socially responsible citizens reflecting faith in humane, ethical and spiritual values.

To evolve as a centre of excellence in legal education from all conceivable angles capable to make affirmative impact in society and to accomplish distinct contributions to the legal system of this country.

Catholic Diocese of Kanjirappally

The glorious track record of the Kanjirappally Diocese in establishing and administering educational and other institutions with midas touch lends added credibility to its new ventures. Helmed by the visionary and youthful Bishop Mar Jose Pulickal, the Diocese has a glorious track record across a broad range of educational and social service activities. The Diocese established in 1977 is credited with unrivalled success achieved by its flagship higher educational institutions. St Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally, an aided college accredited with NAAC A+ consecutively, established under the aegis of the management of St. Dominic’s College Trust, Kanjirappally; Marian College, Kuttikanam (Autonomous); Amal Jyothi Engineering College (Autonomous), all affiliated to the MG University, Kottayam. Besides the higher educational institutions, the Diocese also run 17 Higher Secondary Schools, 36 High Schools, 26 Upper Primary Schools, 54 Lower Primary Schools, and 5 Special Schools embedding itself as the foremost successful educational agency in the state of Kerala. The NGOs under the aegis of the Diocese like Malanadu Development Society, Peermade Development Society are successful agencies making purposive interventions for accomplishing the sustainable development of different sections of the society. Buoyed by the success, the St. Dominic’s College of Law (Self Financing) has been established under the management of St. Dominic’s College Trust , Kanjirappally.

The Diocese of Kanjirappally, since its inception in 1977, has been at the forefront of promoting educational activities by establishing educational institutions from schools to higher educational institutions of scale. The relentless pursuit for the creation and dissemination of information and knowledge by the diocesan educational institutions have touched the lives of a large cross-section of the society, and in the process empowered them scaling up their well-being. Having successfully raised formidable higher education institutions in Humanities and Science, Engineering and Management, the Diocesan endeavour to establish a Law College resulted from thoughtful exercises, with avowed objectives. Our deep commitment to the Constitution and its values and profound social responsibility to strive for an egalitarian society premised on the rule of law persuaded us to bring into existence an institution of legal learning. The fruition of this ardent desire marks the establishment of St. Dominic’s College of Law at Kanjirappally which indeed is being conceived as a generation next institution of legal learning, capable of best equipping the aspiring students of law in the fast-changing landscape of legal education in the country. It could be rest assured that this institution will be inclusive, socially responsible and ethically premised embracing human values, leaving indelible imprints in the larger universe and even across frontiers.
