The Diocese of Kanjirappally, since its inception in 1977, has been at the forefront of promoting educational activities by establishing educational institutions from schools to higher educational institutions of scale. The relentless pursuit for the creation and dissemination of information and knowledge by the diocesan educational institutions have touched the lives of a large cross-section of the society, and in the process empowered them scaling up their well-being. Having successfully raised formidable higher education institutions in Humanities and Science, Engineering and Management, the Diocesan endeavour to establish a Law College resulted from thoughtful exercises, with avowed objectives. Our deep commitment to the Constitution and its values and profound social responsibility to strive for an egalitarian society premised on the rule of law persuaded us to bring into existence an institution of legal learning. The fruition of this ardent desire marks the establishment of St. Dominic’s College of Law at Kanjirappally which indeed is being conceived as a generation next institution of legal learning, capable of best equipping the aspiring students of law in the fast-changing landscape of legal education in the country. It could be rest assured that this institution will be inclusive, socially responsible and ethically premised embracing human values, leaving indelible imprints in the larger universe and even across frontiers.

It is my pleasure to inform you about the ambitious launch of St. Dominic’s College of Law, Kanjirapally with an avowed aim to distinctly contribute to the legal education domain of the State of Kerala. We earnestly expect a pan Kerala presence of aspirants of legal learning premised on the strengths of our institution. The law students of the present times are having ocean of opportunities and we are conscious of our role in evolving them to occupy their space in their ever-emerging career universe. We look forward to equip the students of law with core competencies to enable them to meet the challenges thrown by the changing terrains and paradigms of the post globalized world.

Our perception is to invest in building strong fundamentals of the students, to provide rich and adequate exposure to the learning ways integrating state of the art technological advancements, to forge ties by collaborating with other institutions of excellence, to emphasize on the functional aspects of law, to integrate the institution with governance structures, judiciary and law firms and other resourceful organizations. At the same time as part of our organic existence, we are deeply committed to social responsibilities, equity and inclusivity besides conserving human values.

We are very much confident that our Centre of Legal Education will be a harbinger among the select few generation-next institutions of legal learning in the country. We are driven by our sustained efforts to not only capitalize on and cater to the available opportunities, but also to create opportunities and take information, knowledge and proficiency beyond frontiers.
